8:1 耶和华我们的主阿，你的名在全地何其美。你将你的荣耀彰显于天。
O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
8:2 你因敌人的缘故，从婴孩和吃奶的口中，建立了能力，使仇敌和报仇的，闭口无言。
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
8:3 我观看你指头所造的天，并你所陈设的月亮星宿，
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
8:4 便说，人算什么，你竟顾念他。世人算什么，你竟眷顾他。
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
8:5 你叫他比天使微小一点，并赐他荣耀尊贵为冠冕。
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
8:6 你派他管理你手所造的，
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
8:7 *使万物，就是一切的牛羊，田野的兽，空中的鸟，海里的鱼，
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8:8 *凡经行海道的，都服在他的脚下。
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

诗篇8参考
这篇优美的诗歌，预表了新约中的某些事物，你看会是──
8:1-9 这篇诗有部分被新约引用，应用在基督身上（参林前15:27；来2:6-8）。耶稣成为一个人，比天使卑微一点（8:5），当他来统治新天新地时，他将会提升那些属于他的人高过天使。耶稣是惟一能够完全反映神的形像的人（参加2:20；西1:15）。
圣经常说要像小孩子般，但小孩子有甚么特性是我该学习的呢？
8:2 小孩子可以毫不怀疑毫不保留地去信靠和赞美神，但年纪愈大，就愈难做到。要除去那些使我们不能与他更亲密同行的拦阻，求神使我们像小孩子一样单纯地信靠赞美他。
谦卑，是妄自菲薄，是贬低自己的价值？其实……
8:3-4 当我们敬重神的威严时，就必定在他伟大的光照之下看见自己；当我们环顾神伟大的创造，就会觉得自己是何等渺小。谦卑就是正确地尊敬神，而不是贬低自己的价值。
造物奇妙，然而造物主何竟眷顾一个像我这样的人？
8:3-5 当我们看见神创造的奇妙伟大，就会奇怪他为何眷顾那常令他失望的人。神创造我们，只比他自己卑微一点（8:5）。当你怀疑自己的价值或感到自卑时，记著神看你是有极高价值的。我们是极尊贵的，因为我们有创造主的形像（参创1:26-27可以知道神确定了全人类的价值），因著神已经宣告了我们对他是何等有价值，我们就当除去那些自觉无价值的自卑感。
神所给我的祝福，不单是为了享受，也是要让我好好去运用……
8:6 神赐予人有极大的权柄──管理整个世界，但是重大的权柄也带来重大的责任。假若我们有子女，我们就有作父母的权柄叫他们去做我们指派的事。但我们更有责任去关心他们的生活、健康、成长、学业等等。你怎样去对待神的创造物呢？要有智慧地运用你的资源。因为我们要为自己的忠心向神交账。
