38:1 （大卫的记念诗）耶和华阿，求你不要在怒中责备我。不要在烈怒中惩罚我。
O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
38:2 因为你的箭射入我身，你的手压住我。
For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
38:3 因你的脑怒，我的肉无一完全。因我的罪过，我的骨头也不安宁。
There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
38:4 我的罪孽高过我的头，如同重担叫我担当不起。
For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
38:5 因我的愚昧，我的伤发臭流脓。
My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
38:6 我疼痛，大大拳曲，终日哀痛。
I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
38:7 我满腰是火。我的肉无一完全。
For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
38:8 我被压伤，身体疲倦。因心里不安，我就唉哼。
I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
38:9 主阿，我的心愿都在你面前。我的叹息不向你隐瞒。
Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
38:10 我心跳动，我力衰微，连我眼中的光，也没有了。
My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
38:11 我的良朋密友，因我的灾病，都躲在旁边站着。我的亲戚本家，也远远的站立。
My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
38:12 那寻索我命的，设下网罗。那想要害我的，口出恶言，终日思想诡计。
They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
38:13 但我如聋子不听，像哑吧不开口。
But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
38:14 我如不听见的人，口中没有回话。
Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
38:15 耶和华阿，我仰望你。主我的神阿，你必应允我。
For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
38:16 我曾说，恐怕他们向我夸耀。我失脚的时候，他们向我夸大。
For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
38:17 我几乎跌倒，我的痛苦常在我面前。
For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
38:18 我要承认我的罪孽。我要因我的罪忧愁。
For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
38:19 但我的仇敌又活泼又强壮。无理恨我的增多了。
But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
38:20 以恶报善的与我作对，因我是追求良善。
They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
38:21 耶和华阿，求你不要撇弃我。我的神阿，求你不要远离我。
Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
38:22 拯救我的主阿，求你快快帮助我。
Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
诗篇38参考
大卫是一个很愿意认罪的人，因为他深知道犯罪的后果……
38篇 这首诗也叫“悔改诗”，因为大卫表达了自己对所犯之罪的悲哀（38:18）。大卫说他的罪导致了健康问题（38:1-8），并把他同神和其他人分开了。这使大卫产生了极度的孤独感（38:9-14）。最后大卫承认了自己的罪并且愿意悔改（38:15-22）。
求神不要在怒中责骂自己，大卫想逃避责任吗？他怕被责骂吗？其实，我也怕……
38:1 大卫就像子女呼叫父亲一样呼求神。大卫并不是在说：“不要惩罚我！”而是说：“不要在你生气的时候惩罚我。”大卫知道他罪该受罚，但他求神以怜悯来管教他。我们就像孩子一样有求怜悯的自由，但我们不应当说我们不该受罚。
罪孽高过我的头，人又如何担当？如果没有神……
38:2-4 大卫看到，神的怒气是对他犯罪的惩罚。尽管神不总是降肉体上的疾病来惩罚我们的罪，但这一节和经文中的其他章节说明（参徒12:21-23；林前11:30-32），神在某些情况下是会这样做的。我们的罪对我们的肉体和精神都会产生副作用，并带来极大的痛苦。有时候神非要惩罚一下自己的子女不可，好把他们带回到自己的身边来（参来12:5-11）。我们认罪悔改，神就答应赦免我们，除去罪带来在永恒中的后果，却不一定除去它在地上带来的恶果，这是我们要承担的。尽管神没有应许说要除掉罪在地上的所有结果，但神要将我们从它们中间解救出来。
面对陷害自己的人，还要沉默不语？不太可能吧？
38:13-14 在别人诋毁我们的时候，我们要保护自己的名誉，很难保持沉默。在别人攻击我们最心爱的东西的时候，要我们甚么事情都不做是很困难的。但我们不需要以牙还牙，或阐明我们的立场。我们要相信神能保护我们的名誉。耶稣在控告者的面前就沉默不语（参路23:9-10）；他将事情交在了神的手中（参彼前2:21-24）。这也是一个我们向神交托事情的好方法。
