29:1 人屡次受责罚,仍然硬着颈项,他必顷刻败坏,无法可治。

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

29:2 义人增多,民就喜乐。恶人掌权,民就叹息。

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

29:3 爱慕智慧的,使父亲喜乐。与妓女结交的,却浪费钱财。

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

29:4 王藉公平,使国坚定。索要贿赂,使国倾败。

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

29:5 谄媚邻舍的,就是设网罗绊他的脚。

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

29:6 恶人犯罪,自陷网罗。惟独义人,欢呼喜乐。

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

29:7 义人知道查明穷人的案。恶人没有聪明,就不得而知。

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

29:8 亵慢人煽惑通城。智慧人止息众怒。

Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

29:9 智慧人与愚妄人相争,或怒,或笑,总不能使他止息。

If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

29:10 好流人血的,恨恶完全人。索取正直人的性命。

The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

29:11 愚妄人怒气全发。智慧人忍气含怒。

A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

29:12 君王若听谎言,他一切臣仆都是奸恶。

If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

29:13 贫穷人,强暴人,在世相遇,他们的眼目,都蒙耶和华光照。

The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.

29:14 君王凭诚实判断穷人,他的国位,必永远坚立。

The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

29:15 杖打和责备,能加增智慧。放纵的儿子,使母亲羞愧。

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

29:16 恶人加多,过犯也加多。义人必看见他们跌倒。

When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

29:17 管教你的儿子,他就使你得安息,也必使你心里喜乐。

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

29:18 没有异象,(或作默示)民就放肆。惟遵守律法的,便为有福。

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

29:19 只用言语,仆人不肯受管教,他虽然明白,也不留意。

A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

29:20 你见言语急躁的人吗。愚昧人比他更有指望。

Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

29:21 人将仆人从小娇养,这仆人终久必成了他的儿子。

He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

29:22 好气的人,挑启争端。暴怒的人,多多犯罪。

An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

29:23 人的高傲,必使他卑下。心里谦逊的,必得尊荣。

A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

29:24 人与盗贼分赃,是恨恶自己的性命。他听见叫人发誓的声音,却不言语。

Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

29:25 惧怕人的陷入网罗。惟有倚靠耶和华的,必得安稳。

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

29:26 求王恩的人多。定人事乃在耶和华。

Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.

29:27 为非作歹的,被义人憎嫌。行事正直的,被恶人憎恶。

An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

箴言29参考

你是有错就改吗?还是错了又错?如果是后者……
29:1 一错再错的人必自招灾祸。他们终必面对不肯改过所带来的后果。如果他们的过错是不肯接受神的邀请去领受救恩,或不愿听从他的命令,后果必更严重。神可能会彻底弃绝他们。请你切勿作硬著颈项的人。

贫穷人和强暴人的相同之处在于──
29:13 这一节是指不论欺压人的强暴人或受欺压的贫穷人,能看得见都是因同一位神的恩赐。但贪婪的或是为权力欲驱使去欺压贫穷人的人,神的审判必临到他们。

“我该不该说孩子?他会不会恨我?”──这是为孩子著想吗?
29:15 父母常厌烦管教年幼的子女。他们总觉得自己每天都在责骂、惩罚孩子。在你想放弃管教、听任孩子自行其是,或是怕破坏与儿女间的关系而不敢管教时,请你记著:慈爱而严厉的管教有助于他们学习;学习能使他们得智慧。以恒心及爱心管教子女,终必教导孩子学会自律。

恶人多,过犯也多──每个地方是一样的吗?我身处的环境又如何?
29:16 “恶人加多,过犯也加多。”恶人处于领导地位,罪恶必增多。在所有的组织里,不管是教会、商业机构、家庭或政府,各种风气都是上行下效的。人都喜欢摹仿其上司。你给被自己所领导的人,树立了甚么风气?

“没有异象”,是神的原因还是百姓的?
29:18 “异象”是指神启示给先知的话。在百姓不理会神的时候,罪恶就会肆无忌惮地横行。公众道德系于人民对神的认识,也在于人守不守他的律法。国家和人民要想平稳安定,人们必须认识神的道路,遵守他的律例典章。

这一节经文,真难明白,是甚么意思?
29:24 这一节箴言是说,与盗贼同谋的人,因为发过誓,不敢讲出实情。正因为如此,他所起的誓便反而成为自己的祸害。

社会治安越来越差,成天提心吊胆,好怕……
29:25 惧怕人的会因惧怕而阻碍自己做任何事。在极度惧怕的时候,甚至不敢离家一步。相比之下,敬畏神又信靠他的,能得到自由。为甚么要惧怕不能永远伤害你的世人呢?应当敬畏神,他能使人所加的伤害,变为对信靠他之人的好处。
