4:1 那与我说话的天使又来叫醒我，好像人睡觉被唤醒一样。
And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
4:2 他问我说，你看见了什么。我说，我看见了一个纯金的灯台，顶上有盏灯，灯台上有七盏灯，每盏有七个管子。
And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
4:3 旁边有两棵橄榄树，一棵在灯盏的右边，一棵在灯盏的左边。
And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4:4 我问与我说话的天使说，主阿，这是什么意思。
So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
4:5 与我说话的天使回答我说，你不知道这是什么意思吗。我说，主阿，我不知道。
Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
4:6 他对我说，这是耶和华指示所罗巴伯的。万军之耶和华说，不是倚靠势力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的灵，方能成事。
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
4:7 大山哪，你算什么呢。在所罗巴伯面前，你必成为平地。他必搬出一块石头，安在殿顶上。人且大声欢呼，说，愿恩惠恩惠归与这殿（殿或作石）。
Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
4:8 耶和华的话又临到我说，
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
4:9 所罗巴伯的手，立了这殿的根基。他的手也必完成这工。你就知道万军之耶和华差遣我到你们这里来了。
The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
4:10 谁藐视这日的事为小呢。这七眼乃是耶和华的眼睛，遍察全地，见所罗巴伯手拿线铊就欢喜。
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
4:11 我又问天使说，这灯台左右的两棵橄榄树，是什么意思。
Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
4:12 我二次问他说，这两根橄榄枝，在两个流出金色油的金嘴旁边，是什么意思。
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
4:13 他对我说，你不知道这是什么意思吗。我说，主阿，我不知道。
And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
4:14 他说，这是两个受膏者，站在普天下主的旁边。
Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.
撒迦利亚书4参考
金灯盏、金灯台，这异象好熟 ……
4:1 金灯台上的灯盏、七灯及每个灯的七个管子代表灯油源源不绝的供应；橄榄榨的油放在灯盏里，用灯芯点燃发光，表示神的能力会从那灯光显明出来。两棵橄榄树代表祭司和君王的职务。
神交托重任，他也必提供资源──
4:6 神赐所罗巴伯重任，叫他在耶路撒冷重建圣殿（参拉3；2, 8；该1:1；2:23）；先知哈该和撒迦利亚在道德与灵性上鼓励百姓，劝他们恢复重建圣殿的工程。此时所罗巴伯看到重建工作正付诸实施。重建圣殿的工作快要完成时，这两位先知鼓励所罗巴伯，告诉他百姓灵性的麻木以及外族的欺压将要永远被清除。
势力和才能，都是人依重的，神的看法却大相径庭……
4:6 许多人认为，人要立足于这个世界就必须无所畏惧、坚强、不屈不挠。但神说“不是倚靠势力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的灵方能成事。”这句话的重点在“倚靠我（神）的灵”。惟有靠著神的灵，才能完成有永远价值的事。从被掳之地归回的人实在软弱，他们受仇敌骚扰，疲倦、穷困、灰心。但是神实实在在站在他们一方。让我们为神而活，一点也不倚靠自己的力量与才能，只一心一意倚靠神，并且靠圣灵的大能工作！（参何1:7）
圣殿何年竣工？
4:9 重建圣殿的工程于公元前516年完成（参拉6:14-15）。
我为神做的工作，和别人的比起来是不是不够好，不够漂亮……
4:10 许多年纪较大的犹太人，因新建的圣殿不及所罗门王建造的圣殿宏伟壮丽而感到失望。但是更大更美的，未必总是更好的。我们为神所做的工作，在当时看来可能微不足道、意义不大，但他所看重所喜悦的是做得对，并非做得大。为免虚有其表，我们就要在小事上忠心，从现在开始，竭尽所能去做，坦然把工作的结果交给神。
这两位受膏者是指──
4:14 这两位受膏者可能是约书亚和所罗巴伯，他们专心执行这个特别的任务。在大灾难的时候，也有两位见证人起来说预言，向各国传道。他们会被杀，但又会复活。
