3:1 亲爱的兄弟阿,我现在写给你们的是第二封信。这两封都是题醒你们,激发你们诚实的心。
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
3:2 叫你们记念圣先知豫先所说的话,和主救主的命令,就是使徒所传给你们的。
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3:3 第一要紧的,该知道在末世必有好讥诮的人,随从自己的私欲出来讥诮说,
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
3:4 主要降临的应许在那里呢。因为从列祖睡了以来,万物与起初创造的时候仍是一样。
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
3:5 他们故意忘记,从太古凭神的命有了天,并从水而出藉水而成的地。
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
3:6 故此,当时的世界被水淹没就消灭了。
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
3:7 但现在的天地,还是凭着那命存留,直留到不敬虔之人受审判遭沈沦的日子,用火焚烧。
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
3:8 亲爱的弟兄阿,有一件事你们不可忘记,就是主看一日如千年,千年如一日。
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
3:9 主所应许的尚未成就,有人以为他是耽延,其实不是耽延,乃是宽容你们,不愿有一人沈沦,乃愿人人都悔改。
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
3:10 但主的日子要像贼来到一样。那日天必大有响声废去,有形质的都要被烈火销化。地和其上的物都要烧尽了。
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
3:11 这一切既都要如此销化,你们为人该当怎样圣洁,怎样敬虔,
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
3:12 切切仰望神的日子来到。在那日天被烧就销化了,有形质的都要被烈火熔化。
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
3:13 但我们照他的应许,盼望新天新地,有义居在其中。
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
3:14 亲爱的弟兄阿,你们既盼望这些事,就当殷勤,使自己没有玷污,无可指摘,安然见主。
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
3:15 并且要以我主长久忍耐为得救的因由,就如我们所亲爱的兄弟保罗,照着所赐给他的智慧,写了信给你们。
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
3:16 他一切的信上,也都是讲论这事。信中有些难明白的,那无学问不坚固的人强解,如强解别的经书一样,就自取沈沦。
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
3:17 亲爱的弟兄阿,你们既然豫先知道这事,就当防备,恐怕被恶人的错谬诱惑,就从自己坚固的地步上坠落。
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
3:18 你们却要在我们主救主耶稣基督的恩典和知识上有长进。愿荣耀归给他,从今直到永远。阿们。
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
彼得后书3参考
如果有人说神的应许不会实现的,你……
3:3-4 那些好讥诮的人说基督不会再来,但彼得在这里驳斥他们的说法。“末世”是指基督降生到他第二次降临之间的时期,故此我们也同彼得一样,处于末世中。我们必须努力去履行神托付我们的使命,相信他必按著他的应许再来。
3:7 挪亚时代,神用洪水审判世界;基督再来时,他将用火审判世界(参启19:20;20:10-15)。
他既不是耽延,但也在等待,那我应该怎样做?作工?等候主?
3:8-9 当信徒面对逼迫或等候拯救的时候,总是觉得神的工作很缓慢,其实神并不是拖延,只不过是没有按我们的时间表行事而已(参诗90:4)。基督正在等待,希望更多罪人悔改归向他。我们不能光坐著等候主再来,而要知道时间非常紧迫,有许多重要的工作要我们去做。因此我们既要有长远的事奉计划,又要天天警醒,随时作好准备,如同基督今天就回来一样。
天地必废去,万事随风逝,我看我手我心所握所爱的,其实……
3:10-11 “主的日子”就是神审判大地的日子,也是基督再来的日子。对不信的人来说,这日子是突然而且可怕的,但对于过著敬虔生活、警醒等候的信徒来说,这日子则是一个盼望已久、欢喜快乐的日子(参赛34:4;珥3:15-16;太24章;可13章;路21章 )。我们既知道世界将要被焚,就应该把信心放在那永恒的事物上,不要被世上的财物所缠累。你是花去大部分时间来积攒地上的财产,还是努力培养基督的品性呢?
将来的日子……
3:13 神对人的计划并不是拆毁,而是重建(参赛66:22;启21-22章)。神要用火洁净天地,继而建造新天新地。信徒可以欢欣地等候此事的成就。
无可指摘见主面?如果,如果主明天就来,我可以吗?
3:14 我们不要因为基督还未回来就变得闲懒、自满,相反,我们应该在主再来的热切盼望中好好生活。当主再来的时候,你希望自己正在做甚么呢?现在就按照自己的期望过每天的生活吧。
原来保罗书信早已流行……
3:15-16 彼得写这封信的时候,保罗的书信早已享负盛名。要留意彼得将保罗书信里的话视为圣经的一部分,可见初期教会已相信保罗的书信都是神所默示的。
彼得、保罗虽不同,但他们所说的却大有关连……
3:15-18 彼得和保罗的背景、性格截然不同,他们教导真理的角度也不同。保罗强调拯救乃是神的恩典,而非因遵行律法;彼得则较为喜欢谈基督徒的生活和事奉。但他们没有互相抵触,反而彼此尊重。假教师企图歪曲保罗的教训,作为宽容不法之事的依据。无疑这类教训使假教师大受欢迎,因为人人都喜欢自己的私欲变得合法,但是这完全违反了保罗的教导,保罗可能也料到会出现类似的假教师,所以他在罗马书中写道:“这却怎么样呢?我们在恩典之下,不在律法之下,就可以犯罪吗?断乎不可!”(罗6:15)彼得警告他的读者,要防备这些假教师的错谬,就要在恩典中成长,更多认识基督。我们认识耶稣愈多愈深入,假教师就愈难诱惑我们。
彼得后书告诉我们一样对付假教师的有力工具──
3:18 彼得在信的开头就点明了此信的要点。他鼓励读者在救主的恩典和知识上都要长进──就是更深地认识神,这是抵挡假教师最重要的武器。无论我们在属灵的路途上走到哪一步,也不论我们的信心有多成熟,这个邪恶的世代都不断向我们的信仰挑战,我们仍然需要多方面不断成长,更多亲近神,才可以在任何环境下都站立得稳,为真理打美好的胜仗。
