5:1 凡从人间挑选的大祭司，是奉派替人辨理属神的事，为要献上礼物，和赎罪祭。（或作要为罪献上礼物和祭物）
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
5:2 他能体谅那愚蒙的，和失迷的人，因为他自己也是被软弱所困。
Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
5:3 故此他理当为百姓和自己献祭赎罪。
And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
5:4 这大祭司的尊荣，没有人自取，惟要蒙神所召，像亚伦一样。
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5:5 如此，基督也不是自取荣耀作大祭司，乃是在乎向他说，你是我的儿子，我今日生你。的那一位。
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
5:6 就如经上又有一处说，你是照着麦基洗德的等次永远为祭司。
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
5:7 基督在肉体的时候，既大声哀哭，流泪祷告恳求那能救他免死的主，就因他的虔诚，蒙了应允。
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
5:8 他虽然为儿子，还是因所受的苦难学了顺从。
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
5:9 他既得以完全，就为凡顺从的的人，成了永远得救的根源。
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
5:10 并蒙神照着麦基洗德的等次称他为大祭司。

5:11 论到麦基洗德，我们有好些话，并且难以解明，因为你们听不进去。
Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
5:12 看你们学习的工夫，本该作师傅，谁知还得有人将神圣言小学的开端，另教导你们。并且成了那必须吃奶，不能吃乾粮的人。
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
5:13 凡只能吃奶的，都不熟练仁义的道理。因为他是婴孩。
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
5:14 惟独长大成人的，才能吃乾粮，他们的心窍，习练得通达，就能分辨好歹了。
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

这里所强调的信息……
5:4-6 本章强调基督的神圣工作和他的人性（参诗2:7；110:4）。当时，耶路撒冷的大祭司由罗马人选立，但在旧约时代，神拣选亚伦和他的后裔成为大祭司。基督与亚伦一样，都是神所拣选的。
5:6 麦基洗德是撒冷城（即现时的耶路撒冷）的祭司（参7章；创16章人物介绍）。
死亡难捱，基督顺服；试炼难过，要经历嘛，总……
5:7 耶稣面对死亡时，实在是极其痛苦的（参路22:41-44），虽然他曾向神呼求，但为了成就神的旨意，还是选择了忍受痛苦、凌辱、与神分离和死亡。有时我们愿意接受试炼，并不是因为喜爱受苦，而是希望顺服神。当你面对试炼时，让耶稣的顺服来支持、鼓励你吧。你知道耶稣基督与你同在，便能够面对任何事情。
有时他总好像不垂听祷告──心里会泛起这样的声音吗？
5:7 你是否觉得神不垂听祷告？应当以顺服的灵去祷告，愿意遵行神的旨意，他必回应顺服他的儿女之呼求。
顺服的生命是这样的──你的生命嘛……
5:8 耶稣不是被动地照安排去生活，而是主动地选择一生不断地以父神的旨意为依归（参约10:17-18）。他选择顺服神，即使顺服会令他受苦和受死。因为他在遭遇试炼的时候仍能完全顺服，因此不论如何难以顺服的情况，他都能够帮助我们顺服。
他是完全的，你对他属性的了解有多少？
5:9 基督在道德上是永远完美的，藉著顺服，他向我们而不是向神或自己证实自己的完美。在圣经中，完美通常是指完全或成熟。藉著分担我们的受苦经历，现在他就能够把永恒的救赎赐给顺服他的人。（有关耶稣在世上对受苦的态度，请参腓2:5-11。）
不知道他们是为了甚么而不长进？我呀？就是有一点点……
5:12-13 这些犹太基督徒不成熟，他们有些人本应该去教导别人，但自己连最基本的教导也没有实践出来。他们不愿意跨越传统和教条，又不愿离开基本真理的讨论。除非他们能够离开安逸的环境，斩断犹太教的束缚，停止尝试将基督信仰与犹太教文化混杂，否则他们仍不能够明白基督作为大祭司的教导。委身基督使人敢于离开安逸的环境。
你能分辨是正确引用经文，还是错误运用经文吗？
5:12-14 为了要从初生的基督徒成长为成熟的基督徒，我们必须学习分辨是非黑白。我们要训练自己的良知、感觉、思想和身体去分辨是非。你能在被试探引诱之前便觉察到它吗？
婴孩牙牙学语，很可爱；在属灵上永为婴孩，人还说可爱？若要成长……
5:14 我们是否有能力吸收神更深奥的真理──“乾粮”，乃取决于灵命的成长。很多时候，我们在灵命还未有这样的消化能力之前，便想吃神的筵席。随著在主里日渐成长，把学习到的真理实践出来，这样，明白真理的能力就会增加了。
