4:1 人子阿，你要拿一块砖，摆在你面前，将一座耶路撒冷城画在其上，
Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:
4:2 又围困这城，造台筑垒，安营攻击，在四围安设撞锤攻城，
And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.
4:3 又要拿个铁鏊，放在你和城的中间，作为铁墙。你要对面攻击这城，使城被困。这样，好作以色列家的预兆。
Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
4:4 你要向左侧卧，承当以色列家的罪孽。要按你向左侧卧的日数，担当他们的罪孽。
Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.
4:5 因为我已将他们作孽的年数定为你向左侧卧的日数，就是三百九十日，你要这样担当以色列家的罪孽。
For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
4:6 再者，你满了这些日子，还要向右侧卧，担当犹大家的罪孽。我给你定规侧卧四十日，一日顶一年。
And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
4:7 你要露出膀臂，面向被困的耶路撒冷，说预言攻击这城。
Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.
4:8 我用绳索捆绑你，使你不能辗转，直等你满了困城的日子。
And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.
4:9 你要取小麦，大麦，豆子，红豆，小米，粗麦，装在一个器皿中，用以为自己作饼。要按你侧卧的三百九十日吃这饼。
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
4:10 你所吃的要按分两吃，每日二十舍客勒，按时而吃。
And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
4:11 你喝水也要按制子，每日喝一欣六分之一，按时而喝。
Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.
4:12 你吃这饼像吃大麦饼一样，要用人粪在众人眼前烧烤。
And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.
4:13 耶和华说，以色列人在我所赶他们到的各国中，也必这样吃不洁净的食物。
And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.
4:14 我说，哎。主耶和华阿，我素来未曾被玷污，从幼年到如今没有吃过自死的，或被野兽撕裂的，那可憎的肉也未曾入我的口。
Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
4:15 于是他对我说，看哪，我给你牛粪代替人粪，你要将你的饼烤在其上。
Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
4:16 他又对我说，人子阿，我必在耶路撒冷折断他们的杖，就是断绝他们的粮。他们吃饼要按分两，忧虑而吃。喝水也要按制子，惊惶而喝。
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
4:17 使他们缺粮缺水，彼此惊惶，因自己的罪孽消灭。
That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
以西结书4参考
先知预言耶路撒冷将被围困，在先知发预言的方式上对我有何提醒之处？
4:1 以西结这样做是向百姓预告耶路撒冷被占和遭毁。神具体地向以西结交代了做甚么、说甚么、怎么做和怎么说，每个细节都有具体的意思。我们常常会忽视或者不尊重神话语的细微之处，认为神大概不会介意。我们应该像以西结一样，就是在神话语的细节上也要完全地顺服。
先知藉著种种象徵的动作，是要表达甚么信息？百姓有何反应？
4:4-17 以西结不寻常的行为象徵著耶路撒冷的命运。他向左侧卧了390天，是说以色列将受到390年的惩罚；然后向右侧卧了40天，是说犹大将受到40年的惩罚。以西结不能动地方，象徵著在耶路撒冷的人将被囚禁在城内。我们知道，以西结并不需要整天卧著，这些经文也交待了神让他在此期间做的其他事情。他获准吃少量的食物，代表著在敌人围城的时候，城中的人尚有口粮可吃。但这食物要用粪来烧烤，象徵著犹大的不洁净。
不少百姓一定看到了这些景象，在整个过程中也不时地听到了以西结的信息（3:27）。可惜的是，他们并未做出应有的回应。我们要学习以西结，有勇气为神作见证。
律法视用人粪烤食物为污秽，这预示了犹大将要经历甚么景况？
4:12-14 以西结求神不要让他用人粪烤食物，因为这违反了洁净的律法（参利21，22；申23:12-14；）。以西结身为祭司，一直小心地遵守这些律法。用人粪作燃料烤食物说明了毁灭。如果城中一切都被烧毁了，也就不可能再继续遵循神献祭的律法了。
